The Old Vic

Deirdre Kinahan’s Rise will be performed in a brand new temporary theatre on Waterloo Millennium Green and unites a kaleidoscope of words, music and movement to tell just one distilled story inspired by hundreds. We asked real Londoners to share their hopes and fears and through the production we explore their answers to how we affect the environment, and how our environment affects us.

Produced by Old Vic New Voices, Rise will be performed and technically supported by The Old Vic Community Company, which is made up of 200 talented and outspoken Londoners with something to say about the capital.

As part of the project The Old Vic and creative agency Flying Object are working with theatre-makers and the Community Company to create an interactive experience, using technology to provide audiences with new ways to engage with the themes of the play. This innovative project is being created with the support of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
